Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first during this game at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. When New Zealand batted first, they amassed 164 runs while losing five wickets up until the fifth ball of the 19th over, when the game was called.

Imad Wasim, a spinner for Pakistan, initially dealt New Zealand a tonne of damage and claimed three crucial wickets. He threw out Daryl Mitchell, who scored three runs; Will Young, who scored six runs; and Tom Latham, who scored 13 runs.

The squad was able to reach a significant score thanks to a 54-run partnership between Chad Bows and Mark Chapman for the fourth wicket.
