Haider Azhar is suspended for one match for a level 3 violation.
Fourth umpire Faisal Afridi, On-field umpires and, third umpire led the charge. Haider Azhar, team manager of Multan Sultans, has been suspended for one match for a level 3 violation of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
Haider was found to have violated article 2.13 of the HBL PSL, which prohibits personal abuse of a player, player support personnel, umpire, or match referee during an HBL PSL match.
Haider confronted the two on-field umpires and abused Alex Wharf following the conclusion of the HBL PSL 8 final.
Haider challenged the penalty imposed by match official Roshan Mahanama,However, it was upheld following a hearing in the PCB Board Room.
“It is truly disappointing that this outstanding tournament has ended with a team manager’s misbehaviour getting him banned for a match,” said Mr Roshan Mahanama.
Haider Azhar’s actions were completely contrary to the values and spirit of this wonderful game, and it is my responsibility to ensure that such transgressions are dealt with harshly.
“I hope that this sanction serves as a deterrent, and that all players and player support personnel will continue to respect umpire decisions and avoid unnecessary provocations.” (Source cricket pakistan)
