The Australian team batted first in the final ODI of the series, which was played in Chennai, and were all out for 269 runs. Except for Australian captain Steve Smith, none of the other players scored in double figures. Mitchell Marsh had 47 runs, Alex Carey had 38, and Travis Head had 33.

Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya each took three wickets for India, while Akshar Patel and Mohammad Siraj each dismissed two players. India made a good start in chasing the target, but the Australian bowlers came back to win by 21 runs.

Virat Kohli led the Indian batsmen with 54 runs, while Hardik Pandya scored 40 and Shibman Gill scored 37.

Adam Zampa of Australia took four wickets and was instrumental in his team’s victory.
