The Saudi women’s football team has been ranked by FIFA
Saudi media reported the Saudi women’s team has achieved excellent results after only 18 months of existence. “We are delighted that our women’s national team has been included in the FIFA rankings,” the Women’s Football Administration said on Twitter.
According to Arab media, the Saudi women’s national team has played 9 matches since its inception in 2021. The Saudi team will now be able to compete in FIFA and Asian Football Confederation-approved tournaments.
Yasir Al-Mashal, president of the Saudi Football Association and a member of the FIFA Council, has stated that what the national team players have accomplished in just one and a half years is a huge accomplishment.
Yasir al-Mashal also stated that this is a historic moment, and that the success is the result of Saudi leaders’ interest and investment in sports in general, and football in particular.
